Sport
Key Stage 2 (Years 3,4,5,and 6)
An emphasis on team games and sports such as: football, netball, rugby, cricket, hockey, rounders, tennis and athletics are our focus. We endeavour to give the students a solid foundation in various sports, preparing them for high school and specialization for the future. We use sport for promoting team spirit, cooperation and early fundamental stages of team tactics and strategy.
A constant reinforcement of our school values: Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, Integrity, Innovation and Industry are a key ingredients in sport lessons for the social and emotional development and growth of each student.
We do play inter-house events and other schools as much as possible and try to get to regional events. In some cases out Key Stage Two pupils will have to sporting activities in one afternoon. This happens where team practice takes place after compulsory sport.
Key Stage 1 (Years 1,2)
Encouraging students to be active and have fun in all activities is our focus. Developing fine and gross motor skills; speed; agility; coordination and problem solving are all incorporated into lessons. Basic ball skills and cooperative games is introduced to enhance active learning, participation and teamwork.
